Quiet Preparation

The word “preparation”
doesn’t sound impressive.

There are no visible results.
No reactions.
No numbers to point to.

And yet,
most meaningful things
happen during this time.

No one needs to notice.
No one needs to praise it.

Each day, just a little,
thoughts become clearer.
Unnecessary things fall away.

What no longer needs to be done
slowly reveals itself.

That alone means
preparation is moving forward.

This is not the beginning yet.
It is not time to present anything.

It is still January.
A time to quietly align.

Because of this time,
the next step—
when it comes—
can be taken without haste.
